About Remi

Rémi was born in Hauts-de-France, in the north of France, and studied at the University of Reims, the city of Champagne. He graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Foreign Languages, Literature and Civilisation. He then completed a teaching qualification and became a primary school teacher.
In 2013, Rémi decided to make Australia his home. He began working as a French tutor and later as a French teacher at various language schools on the Mornington Peninsula and in and around Melbourne. He has taught students of all ages, from children and VCE students to adults, and at all levels, from complete beginners to intermediate and advanced learners.
Rémi also works as a translator. He has translated an Australian film into French and translated scripts for audio guides.
Having travelled extensively throughout France, Rémi has an excellent knowledge of the country and is very familiar with its geography. He enjoys sharing his knowledge and stories about French history, politics, cinema, cuisine and culture, bringing the country to life in the classroom.
Friendly, patient, knowledgeable and passionate, Rémi creates a relaxed and supportive learning environment where students feel comfortable and gradually become more confident in French. His lessons are not only an opportunity to learn the language but also to immerse themselves in French culture and have fun along the way.
In 2019, Rémi decided to create Je parle français, offering French classes at Mount Martha House, Mornington Community House, at students’ homes and, occasionally, in local cafés, restaurants and libraries.
His students particularly appreciate his friendly and engaging teaching style. His lessons have even been described as “a pure moment of joy and happiness.”
